Here is a brief checklist on clinical trials you can apply before purchasing hair loss products:
Were the tests done on a range of subjects?
Men and women often respond differently to treatment so make sure your group is represented in the test subjects.
Where specifically does the product work?
Not all hair loss products work on the whole scalp. Be sure the area you are concerned about is covered by the particular product you are considering.
How long was the test?
If it was done during a short time span the results may not be conclusive. If it was done over many months, the effect of the various natural hair growth cycles will even out giving a more accurate picture.
How many people were used in the test?
The larger number the more accurate results can be obtained.
Has the study been published?
If a reputable medical journal carries an article on the test it adds validity to the claims. In order to protect their reputation, such journals have certain criteria which must be met before a clinical trial is published.
